Believe and EPUK have partnered to offer Education and Teaching Qualifications for individuals who want to become qualified teachers and trainers.

We can work with individuals and organisations from entry level up to professional QTLS status. There is more than one way to get into the teaching profession and some of these routes can take a very long time and be very expensive. We have worked with education experts, specialist career advisors, employers and subject-matter specialists to design a holistic pathway into teaching. This pathway is cost-effective and works for all those people who traditionally weren’t able to get into teaching. We already have students who have participated and succeeded in this process at a fraction of time and resource normally expended in traditional routes into teaching.

We have a fantastic, flexible, fast-track programme to help you start and succeed in your teaching career. This is not just a teaching qualification but a full support package which enables you to address all aspects of successfully getting into the teaching profession. We will be your one-stop shop that, alongside the qualification, will provide additional support, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant workshops to support your development.

EPUK provides an end-to-end solution, tackling underlying barriers in accessing teaching. As well as the qualifications, we provide:

  • Support and advice throughout the course (beyond that required for the qualifications
  • Support with accessing placements
  • 1-2-1 coaching and help
  • Input from career experts
  • Advice on applying for QTLS status from a QTLS Reviewer
  • CPD support
  • Enhanced job prospects
  • Links to national and international job opportunities

We help our students to get in the teaching profession in a supportive and inclusive manner. We work with you to help you access and grow within the teaching profession which has opportunities nationally and internationally.

Certificate in Education and Training Level 4

This is an accredited QCF Qualification provided by TQUK Awarding Organisation.

Total number of credits required: 36 credits

12 full day sessions of 6 hours each (one day on weekend or weekday at 10am-4.30am) or 2 x 3hour evening a week.

As our trainee teacher, you must undertake a total of at least 30 hours of teaching practice, teaching adults (anyone aged 14 years and over). During your course you will have a minimum of three formal observations assessing the quality of your teaching. These will usually last one hour and you must be teaching a group of at least 3 learners.

The Qualification is assessed by students developing a portfolio of their work.

Diploma in Education and Training Level 5

This is an accredited QCF Qualification provided by TQUK Awarding Organisation.

Total number of credits required: 120 credits.

Level 5 Qualifications are equivalent to Higher National Diploma, Certificate in Education and the second year of an undergraduate degree. This is enough to get into the teaching profession and students do not need a degree or postgraduate certificate in education.

There are 60 hours of classroom teaching which students have to attend, as well as attendance to mandatory workshops, tutorials and CPD activity.

12 full day sessions of 6 hours each (2 weekends a month at 10am-4.30am break) or 2 x 3hour evening a week.

The teaching practice requirement for the DET qualification is 100 hours.

If you have completed the Certificate in Education and Training Level 4 with EPUK then you will receive RPL (recognition of prior learning) for a total of 36 credits. This means that you now only have to complete 85 Credits on the Diploma in Education and Training course. If you have completed the Certificate in Education and Training Level 4 then you can use evidence of 20 hours of the teaching practice you completed during this course. This means that you only have to complete an extra 80 hours teaching practice.

Throughout undertaking the Level Four and Level Five qualifications, our students will be undertaking supplementary support and professional development in order to prepare them for QTLS registration and professional career in teaching. Instead of taking a very long time and doing each aspect required one at a time, we develop a personal plan for each student so they are undertaking more than one activity in order to achieve their goals in a fast track way.

Equivalence of QTLS and QTS

When you successfully complete the Level 5 Diploma, you can use the qualifications and professional development undertaken with us to apply for the QTLS Status. If you intend to apply, you should have achieved a Level 2 (GCSE grade A-C) in Maths and English.

Since 1 April 2012, Society for Education and Training (SET), formerly the Institute for Learning (IfL), members with Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status have been recognised as qualified to teach in schools.

Statutory instrument 2012 No. 431, which was laid in parliament on 9 March 2012, amended the 2003 regulations so that holders of QTLS who are SET members may be appointed to permanent positions as qualified teachers, without any further induction requirements.

Schools and local authorities remain responsible for decisions on employing QTLS holders, and SET maintains the national register of QTLS holders, including those teaching in schools.
